III "IMMAGINI - ORIZZONTE CULTURA"
INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
The Association "Orizzonte Cultura" in partnership with the Council of Quarrata and the Province of Pistoia (Tuscany - It-aly) organises the third edition of "Immagini" photography competition with the special "Tiziano Terzani" prize to be awarded to the photograph which best expresses respect for nature. COMPETITION RULES
Categories
A) “PEOPLE” – Dedicated to pictures of people
B) “NATURE" – Dedicated to pictures of environment
C) “CITIES” – Dedicated to urban subjects
D) “FREE SUBJECT” – Dedicated to different subjects
Entry is open to any amateur and professional photographers with no distinction and it is possible to submit three photos for each category (it is possible to participate to the different sections but you can't submit more than three photos for each single category). The entry fee for each portfolio (“People” - “Nature” - “Cities” - “Free subjects”) is € 10 for the first one and there is a further entry fee of € 5 for each subsequent entry. Please send the money in a closed envelope to the Association "Orizzonte Cultura”, Via Galilei 17 – 51039 Quarrata (Pistoia – Italy). Foreign entries shall use Eurogiro or MoneyGram. Write to concorsi@orizzontecultura.org for details indicating "Immagini - dettagli pagamento" in the object.
Entries:
1) Each entrant shall submit to the account concorsi@orizzontecultura.org what follows:
- the photographs (.jpg files with 640x480 pixel resolution; name it with the same title of the photograph followed by the name of the category: “People”, “Nature”, “Cities”, “Free subjects”. High resolution files will be requested, after judging, only to winners;
- filled in entry form attached to the Competition Rules.
Each entrant shall send to the Association "Orizzonte Cultura”, Via Galilei 17 – 51039 Quarrata (Pistoia – Italy) what fol-lows::
• printed, filled in and signed entry form;
• entry fee or payment receipt (for payments through Eurogiro or MoneyGram).
OR
2) Each entrant shall send to the address of the Association “Orizzonte Cultura”, Via Galilei 17 – 51039 Quarrata (Pistoia – Italy) what follows:
- the photographs printed on photographic paper, size 20x30 cm (please write tag at the back of the work with title and category) or a CD containing high resolution photos (.jpg files named with the same title of the photograph followed by the name of the category: “People”, “Nature”, “Cities”, “Free subjects”);
- filled out entry form attached to the Competition Rules;
- entry fee or payment receipt (for payments through Eurogiro or MoneyGram).
Entries close at midnight on the 28th February 2009 (they will only be accepted if they are postmarked or sent on or be-fore this date). No accepted work may be withdrawn at the end of the competition and it will become part of the Associa-tion archives. Copyright remain that of the authors but all entrants understand that the Association may use their works for institutional purposes and they shall not ask for remuneration.
A formal prize-giving reception will be held in May during which the first three winners in each category will be awarded prizes. An absolute winner will also be named and awarded € 200 in prize money. The special prizes "Tiziano Terzani" and "O.C. International", both worth € 100, will be awarded respectively to the photograph which best expresses the concept of love for nature and to the foreign best photographer. Winners shall attend the prize-giving ceremony, other-wise they'll be disqualified. Winners seriously prevented from coming can name a delegate, except for prize money.
Winners will be chosen by a Jury composed by judges named by the Association "Orizzonte Cultura". Their judgment is unappealable. Winners will be personally informed about the results, the place and the date of the prize-giving ceremony and these will also be published on the site www.orizzontecultura.org
As to what is not provided for by the present agreement, every decision is to be taken by the Association.
Entering shall constitute understanding and agreement on the part of the artist with all the conditions stated.
